The mouse visual and licking behavior system includes a feeding and water intake module, a video capture system, a visual stimulation module, and an analysis module. The system aims to study the neural circuit functional foundations of classical conditioning, operant conditioning, learning, memory, vision, water intake, and other behavioral aspects in a fixed head environment.

Key Features:

- Microsecond precision

- Does not generate electrical noise, allowing simultaneous electrophysiology and brain imaging

Lickometer Module

- Precisely measures tongue movements and lick duration/frequency with microsecond precision

- Uses collimated infrared light to detect licking without generating microcurrents or electrical noise

- Compatible with high-density electrodes like Neuropixels or SiNAPS 

- Infrared system does not affect vision, allowing complex visual stimuli

- Silent medical-grade valves precisely control water delivery down to 1uL

- Minimizes valve noise interference and conditioning confounds

Video Capture System

- Includes software to monitor licking behavior, trigger video capture, and adjust field of view

- High-speed 200+ fps capture up to 720p resolution synchronized within 50us of behavior 

- Adjustable focus 30cm range, control software, external triggering, infrared sensitivity

- Compatible with two-photon microscopy and other imaging systems
